About TableSawGuide

Our Mission

TableSawGuide was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to help woodworkers everywhere make smarter decisions, through approachable guidance and free tools that make planning a lumber order, calculating cut depth, dialing in miter angles, and setting up for the build clearer, more rewarding, and more practical.

We believe that everyone who works with wood or dreams of building, from first-time DIYers to seasoned woodworkers, deserves access to accurate tools, comprehensive resources, and trustworthy guidance. Our platform bridges the gap between confusing specs and confident, well-informed decisions about table saw reviews and setups, blades and accessories, dust collection, wood cutting tips, DIY and advanced techniques, and working wood smart.

Through our free collection of tools, we help woodworkers make informed decisions about lumber quantities, cut depth, miter angles, wood movement, dust collection, and kerf width. Every tool is designed with real-world applicability in mind, tested against the day-to-day realities of planning, setting up, and finishing a build, and continuously improved based on user feedback. To go deeper, explore our Woodworking & Table Saws museum, with galleries on classic saws and machinery, essential blades and accessories, timeless hand tools, and the craft behind every great project.

Our Story

TableSawGuide emerged from a need we experienced firsthand. While trying to sort through conflicting advice and scattered references, we noticed a common challenge: the lack of accessible, accurate tools for the everyday decisions that come with planning a build, running the numbers on a lumber order, and making the most of every cut.

Skilled woodworking relies heavily on curiosity and a little know-how, which are invaluable. However, a confident woodworker also benefits from clear answers about how much lumber a project needs, what cut depth a board requires, what miter angle to set, how much a board will move, what dust collection to plan for, and what kerf a blade removes. We saw an opportunity to combine well-researched woodworking knowledge with modern tools to help people make confident decisions about every build.

Our team began developing tools that we wished existed when we planned our first big projects. Each calculator and guide was created to solve real problems encountered when estimating a build, comparing blades, or setting up an unfamiliar cut. We tested every tool against real-world numbers, refined the logic based on feedback, and ensured that the results reflected current, widely accepted woodworking practice.

Today, TableSawGuide serves active users worldwide, from first-time DIYers to lifelong woodworking enthusiasts. Our tools have helped people estimate lumber, calculate cut depth, set miter angles, plan for wood movement, size dust collection, and account for kerf, and make more deliberate, confident woodworking decisions.

Our Core Values

Our Expertise

TableSawGuide’s tools and guides are developed and maintained by a team with extensive woodworking experience across multiple areas:

Our team includes experienced woodworkers, makers, writers, and reviewers who bring years of combined experience to tool development. We regularly consult industry references and trusted experts to ensure our content reflects current best practices. Our content is general informational and educational content, NOT professional woodworking, safety, or financial advice; results vary — always follow your saw’s manual, use appropriate guards and safety equipment, and consult a qualified professional for guidance before making decisions.

Looking Forward

The future of woodworking lies in the intelligent combination of curiosity and proven know-how with modern tools and clear knowledge. At TableSawGuide, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of this evolution.

Our development roadmap includes expanded tools for project planning, material estimating, cut setup, and cost comparison. We’re also working on multilingual support to serve the global community of woodworkers better, and developing specialized guidance for different project types, materials, and ways of building them more deliberately.

Most importantly, we remain committed to keeping our tools free and accessible. As we grow, we’ll continue to prioritize user needs, ensuring that everyone has access to practical woodworking tools regardless of their budget.
