Rockwell RK7241S Table Saw Review 2022

We have already reviewed the best cabinet table saw, the Grizzly G0690, and the best contractor table saw, the Bosch 4100, so we decided we would review one of the best hybrid table saws on the market, the Rockwell RK7241S. There are a couple of reasons why you would choose a hybrid table saw over the alternatives but the biggest one is the dust port and the dust bag. Just like on a contractor table saw, a hybrid has a huge dust port, but the dust holder is not a cumbersome cabinet. As a result, you can easily carry the hybrid table saw to any workplace and still get most of the benefits of a cabinet table saw. The only disadvantage is that you cannot really use a DADO blade on it.

Technical Specifications

The Rockwell RK7241S uses a contractor table saw motor of 15 Amps, the strongest motor in its class with a maximum RPM of 4800. It is not the fastest speed a blade can reach but it is more than enough to rip through any type of wood. The impressive thing is the cut depth which, at a 90-degree angle is 3-9/16 inches and at 45 degrees it is 2-9/16 inches. That means the Rockwell RK7241S is one of the very few contractors or hybrid table saws that can cut straight through a 4 by 4.

Still, the reason why you would choose the Rockwell RK7241S hybrid table saw is not only the depth it can cut to, but also its wide, 30-inch rip fence to the right of the blade, and an additional 11 inches to the left of it. There are some contractor table saws that can match that, but none of them can match the 4 inches of dust port, the powerful vacuum, and the dust bag. Those features make the Rockwell RK7241S one of the cleanest table saws to operate, not only in its class but considering all of the options you might have.

Hybrid Features

There are a couple of features that make the Rockwell RK7241S a special table saw even in its class. For one, the dust bag can be folded right under the table for transport. While you are using it, the Rockwell uses 4 sturdy legs to form a very stable work table just like you would have on a cabinet table. Those legs can be retracted and folded along the table, and you can pull out a handle that allows you to drag it on its wheels. Essentially, when folded up the Rockwell RK7241S becomes a very light, mobile contractor table.

The other feature that sets the RK7241S apart from everything else in its class is the laser cut line indicator. The laser helps you have a clear line of sight of where you are going to cut, and it self aligns itself once you shift the blade for bevel cuts. That feature is very rare on table saws because it tends to drive up the price, but the Rockwell RK7241S table saw is actually quite an affordable alternative even when you compare it with other units in the contractor class.
