Instead, we are going to look at what is the most affordable cabinet table saw on the market today. It is actually across from a hybrid to a cabinet table saw. The fact that it has a rigid cabinet case definitely defines it as a cabinet table saw, but the problem with it is that, as it comes out of the box, it only supports a regular blade. You can, however, upgrade it to use a DADO blade and we are going to talk about whether it is worth investing in that upgrade, and what your alternatives may be.

Technical Specifications
The Jet 708494K JPS-10TS uses a standard 3 horsepower motor that can be run off of a 20 Amps generator, but, of course, it would be better if you could connect it to the grid. At full speed, the arbor speed is 4000 rotations per minute or RPM. One of the most impressive things about it is that it has a cast-iron tabletop and you can choose to order either cast iron or stamped steel wings. The advantage with the cast iron wings is they offer a lot of extra stability to the entire table, but they make the table so heavy that, if you decide to go with them, you will definitely not be able to move the table from one work site to another.
Despite the fact that the table itself is very difficult to move, everything else about it is designed to be changed in a snap, often enough without the need for any tools. The arbor lock is accessible from the tabletop, so you can change the blade in a matter of minutes. You can also mount and remove the blade guard and the riving knife without any tools as they just snap into place. The regular fence allows you to measure up to 30 inches from the blade but, with the extension guard, you can go as far as 52 inches. Upgrade Opportunities
At the beginning of the article, we pointed out that the Jet 708494K JPS-10TS cabinet table saw cannot use a DADO blade as it comes out of the box. That is true but the interesting thing is you can order from Jet an upgraded miter gauge and a DADO blade. The upgrade is somewhat expensive though, so it may be worth buying the Grizzly G0690 that works with a DADO blade from the factory. However, the Jet 708494K JPS-10TS also has that huge 52 inches rip fence and the cast-iron tabletop and wings, and, particularly for a beginner woodworker, the stability they provide is definitely worth the effort of upgrading the gage.
